5 New Venues in Canada for Summer 2024 Meetings and Events

Take a peek at these buzzworthy restaurants, hotels, meeting and event spaces, and more recently opened in Canada.

Here's a closer look at Canada's newest eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms, and other spaces available for events this summer. The new and renovated Canada venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings, and more.

Nobu Toronto
Nobu Toronto
When it officially debuts Aug. 6, Nobu Toronto will be the first Nobu outpost in Canada. The two-level restaurant and bar will open its doors ahead of the Toronto International Film Festival, located just one block away from TIFF Lightbox in the Entertainment District. Guests can expect Nobu's world-famous dishes like the black cod miso, yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno, and rock shrimp tempura. But expect new local nods honoring Toronto's multicultural food scene from executive chef Alex Tzatzos. Designed by Toronto-based Studio Munge, the interior combines Japanese-inspired design and Canadian craftsmanship across two levels. Spanning 10,000 square feet, Nobu Toronto offers a total of 278 seats across a ground-level bar and lounge, a mezzanine-level restaurant bar and outdoor terrace, a second-level restaurant, a sushi bar, and a private dining room for 20. The restaurant and bar will open prior to Nobu Hotel Toronto, expected to debut in spring 2025.

Moxy Banff
Moxy Banff
Officially opened in April, Moxy Banff transformed the mountain town’s first commercial motor hotel—originally constructed in 1964—into a new hotel chock full of retro ski vibes. Expect midcentury modern design details and amenities like a vinyl collection of over 200 records, two hot tubs, and a board and bike locker room for self-storage and repairs. The property boasts 109 guest rooms. Consider it a funky, unconventional choice for groups headed to the Canadian Rockies.

The Parker Hotel Vancouver
The Parker Hotel Vancouver
As of February, The Parker Hotel Vancouver is open on a famed stretch of Howe Street in the heart of Vancouver. The property features 98 guest rooms and suites, two signature dining destinations, and a guest-only rooftop jacuzzi pool. Various venues are open to planners for private events, including a lobby patio that can host up to 40 for a reception. But the standout space is surely the Parker Rooftop (pictured). Here, planners can host meetings, receptions, banquets, cocktail parties, and more for up to 120 guests. Perched high above the city, the space features three patios, floor-to-ceiling windows, and city and ocean views.

Vieux Carré
Vieux Carré
In May, new cocktail bar Vieux Carré debuted in Quebec City from Groupe la Tanière. The space can accommodate 20 people indoors. During the summer, Vieux Carré offers terrace seating with views of Place de Paris and the St. Lawrence River. The menu features 20 signature cocktails and mocktails, plus a vast selection of spirits, beers, and ciders highlighting Quebec products. For food, expect dishes like oysters, tartare, and a Cubano sandwich from chef Sabrina Lemay, co-owner of Bistro L'Orygine.

GRETA Bar
GRETA Bar
In April, GRETA Bar opened in the heart of Toronto’s King West neighborhood. The space boasts more than 50 modern and vintage arcade games, locally sourced street food inspired by global flavors, multiple bars, and a dance floor with a DJ booth. To date, this is the biggest location of the entertainment destination that's already beloved throughout Western Canada. The two-story brick-and-beam building has been transformed to be fully accessible and can accommodate groups of various sizes, including private floor buyouts of 125 or 450, as well as full buyouts of 575 guests, with seating for more than 350. Groups can engage in some friendly competition on games like pinball, Skee-Ball, and the four-player Hot Wheels: King of the Road.
