Here’s a closer look at Boston's newest eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms, and other spaces available for events this fall. The new and renovated Boston venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings, and more.
The Langham, Boston

After unveiling a multimillion renovation in mid-July, there are two new event spaces at The Langham, Boston. The Wilson Ballroom and Promenade embrace the building’s rich history as the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and boast a golden and cream color palette. The 2,813-square-foot Promenade links together the Wilson and Lincoln Ballrooms, plus features floor-to-ceiling windows with views out to Norman B. Leventhal Park. It can be divided into two distinct areas to suit an event of any size and scope, and has a capacity of 275 for a reception. Meanwhile, the Wilson Ballroom is a grand space spanning 3,250 square feet. It can accommodate as many as 300 guests for a reception-style event or 170 for a banquet setup.

The space, which is decked out with a DJ stand, colorful lighting, and rigs for comprehensive AV capabilities, also boasts a smaller private room for more intimate gatherings of up to 26. A luxe bar space can accommodate 80-100 guests for cocktail parties and dinner receptions. Hosting a blowout bash for hundreds? Buyout the entire multilevel space for up to 1,100. Grove at Briar Barn Inn

Tucked in picturesque Rowley, the Briar Barn Inn was built in 2019 to reimagine the farmhouse experience, but was quickly shuttered due to COVID-19. As of June 2020, in addition to inviting guests to stay in one of its 30 guest rooms, three event areas have been available for celebrations and corporate gatherings alike at the on-site restaurant, Grove. Take the 1,790-square-foot main dining room, for example, which can accommodate as many as 100 seated guests. The two smaller spaces include the 482-square-foot Burrow and the 735-square-foot Bramble House, each of which are suited for 20-30 seated guests. With a prime location 30 minutes north of Boston, the Briar Barn Inn can also handle all the planning for events—ranging from coordination to catering—thanks to an in-house team.

Each trailer also boasts an outdoor area and comes equipped with a step-in rainfall shower, king bed, Victrola record player, and 43-inch TV.
