AGO's Art Bash

The Art Gallery of Ontario's 1,000-attendee Art Bash Gala Dinner, held in late September, featured a unique, colorblocked event design by CANDICE&ALISON. Inspired by Helen Frankenthaler’s painting “Flood” and the "color fielding" technique, decor embraced large expanses of color with soft transitions, intending to create an atmosphere without strong contrasts or a central focus.

The space came alive with tones of dusty rose, champagne, hunter green, and royal blue that were perfectly matched in the abstract ceiling drape, wall perimeter, table cloths, napkins, menus, and florals.

For the after-party in the museum's Walker Court, meanwhile, CANDICE&ALISON leaned into bold colors and metallic accents inspired by the “Moments in Modernism” exhibit, bringing the vibrant hues of Jack Bush’s paintings to life. The large main stage and bars were clad in a marble decal that perfectly matched the existing marble of the room, making the entire setting of the party one big canvas for the large strokes of color.

The AGO Art Bash featured performances by Ralph, Tynomi Banks, Kiesza, and DJ Grump. Ultimately, the event raised a record-breaking $1.2 million in support of AGO exhibitions and programs.
